Questions

Frequently asked.

Is the event free and open to everyone?
Yes. Completely free. Sisters, families, reverts, people of all faiths and none. Everyone is welcome. There is no registration; simply come.
Will it still go ahead if it rains?
Light rain, yes, we carry on. Heavy rain, no. In that case the congregation disperses to their regular masjids for Eid salah. We post the call on our Facebook page first thing on the morning.
Do I need to bring anything?
A prayer mat (essential), a folding chair if you'd like to sit for the khutbah, and picnic food to share. Everything else (sweets, face painting, henna, stalls) is on the lawn.
Where exactly in Central Park?
The open lawn at the centre of the park, between the flower gardens and the tennis courts. There will be signage and a visible banner by 9:15am. See the park map above.
Can I book a stall?
Yes. Email info@eidoutside.com at least two weeks before the event. Community and charity stalls are prioritised.
Why are the dates only confirmed close to the day?
Eid follows the lunar calendar and depends on moon sighting. We publish the most likely date months in advance and confirm the night before. Follow our Facebook page for the final call.
